The trio consists of Markus Moser, a guitarist from Biel (CH), André Hahne, a bassist from Lausanne (CH), and drummer Markus Ostfeld from Hilden (D). It was founded out of a desire to develop and arrange pieces together—indulging in the luxury of working without the pressure of immediate results, instead enjoying the pleasure of long-term creative collaboration.
O.H.M first existed in an earlier version in 2010, then with guest singer Bruno Amstadt. In great freedom, the trio finds its identity in authenticity, in the pursuit of a shared sound and language, taking the time to collaboratively arrange compositions by the guitarist or bassist.
The trio gives space to both the softer tones of a classical guitar and the sharper sounds of an electric jazz guitar. As heirs to the legacy of the Allan Holdsworth Trio, the Lage Lund Trio, and even Wes Montgomery, O.H.M presents personal music in the grand tradition of trios. It moves between freedom and more complex arrangements, yet remains faithful to relatively simple and intuitive melodies.
